Code orange warning for wildfires in Limburg

Due to the ongoing drought, a code orange warning for wildfire risk is currently in place in Belgian Limburg. This means that conditions in the countryside are very dry and pose a high fire risk, and that fires can spread rapidly.

Goolderheide Family Park is situated in the heart of a beautiful wooded area. To protect our park, the surrounding countryside and one another, we therefore ask all our guests to take extra care.

What does this mean for your stay?

Whilst Code Orange remains in force, we ask you to observe the following measures:

  • Open fires and campfires are not permitted.
  • Never throw cigarette ends on the ground and take extra care when smoking.
  • Avoid other potential sources of fire, such as candles and tea lights.
  • Barbecuing is permitted using gas only.
  • Please take extra care when walking or cycling in the surrounding woods and nature reserves.
  • Can you see any fire or smoke? If so, please alert the emergency services immediately by dialling 112.

Together, we protect our natural environment

You can still enjoy the wooded surroundings of Goolderheide to the full. With a little extra care, we can work together to ensure that this can be done safely.

The situation can change rapidly due to changing weather conditions. You should therefore always check the latest warnings issued by the Agency for Nature and Forests and follow the instructions issued by Familiepark Goolderheide during your stay.
